A New Chapter for Education in South Sulawesi

For the past few months, the Academy of Entrepreneurs has been building meaningful connections across Indonesia, exploring partnerships with schools, universities, communities, and government institutions that share the same belief: education should prepare young people not only for the classroom, but for the world beyond it.

Among the many places AE has had the privilege to connect with, Makassar has become a very special city in this journey. From school visits and warm conversations with educators, to discussions with local leaders and potential partners, Makassar has continuously shown its openness to innovation, collaboration, and future-focused education.

Today, that journey has reached an exciting new milestone.

The Academy of Entrepreneurs is proud to mark the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Education Office of the South Sulawesi Provincial Government. This MoU represents more than a formal agreement. It is a meaningful step forward, opening new doors for future collaboration, stronger educational opportunities, and impactful programs for students and educators across South Sulawesi.

From Exploration to Partnership

What makes this moment special is the journey behind it. Before the MoU was signed, there were conversations, meetings, shared ideas, and a growing sense of trust between both sides. AE came to Makassar not only to introduce programs, but to listen, understand, and explore how international education, entrepreneurship, leadership, and global exposure could support the needs and aspirations of young people in South Sulawesi.

Representing the Academy of Entrepreneurs in this important milestone was Gurpreet Kaur, also known as Sonia, who has been actively involved in building partnerships and strengthening AE’s presence in Makassar. From the education sector, the MoU was represented by Pak Hery, Head of the Vocational High School Division of the South Sulawesi Education Office. His openness, support, and forward-thinking approach played an important role in bringing this collaboration to life.

The signing of this MoU is a reflection of shared values. Both AE and the South Sulawesi education sector believe that students deserve learning experiences that are relevant, practical, and connected to the realities of the global world.

Opening More Doors for Students and Educators

With this MoU, there is now a stronger foundation to explore many possibilities together. It creates room for future programs that can support students in developing confidence, communication skills, leadership, creativity, entrepreneurship, and global awareness.

For students, this partnership can become a bridge to wider opportunities. It can help them see that learning is not limited to textbooks or classrooms, but can also happen through real-world experiences, international exposure, and direct engagement with people from different industries and cultures.

For teachers and schools, this collaboration opens space for capacity building, new teaching approaches, and access to innovative learning models that can make education more engaging and future-ready.

For South Sulawesi, this is also a chance to strengthen its position as a region that is ready to embrace global education while still staying deeply rooted in local values and potential.

A Shared Vision for the Future

The Academy of Entrepreneurs has always believed that entrepreneurship is more than starting a business. It is a way of thinking. It teaches students to solve problems, take initiative, build confidence, communicate ideas, and create value in society.

Through this collaboration with the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, AE hopes to bring that mindset closer to more young people in the region. Whether through study tour programs, entrepreneurship education, teacher development, global exposure, or other future initiatives, the goal remains the same: to help students believe in themselves and prepare them to take part in a bigger world.

This MoU is not the end of the journey. It is the beginning of many exciting possibilities.

The Beginning of Something Bigger

There is something powerful about seeing a conversation turn into commitment. What once started as an exploration has now become an official partnership, and with it comes hope, excitement, and a stronger sense of purpose.

AE is deeply grateful to the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, especially the education team and Pak Hery, for the trust and support given throughout this process. This collaboration is a reminder that when institutions come together with a shared heart for education, real impact becomes possible.

Makassar has already become an important part of AE’s journey in Indonesia. And now, with this MoU in place, a new chapter begins.

A chapter filled with more doors, more possibilities, and hopefully, many more life-changing opportunities for students across South Sulawesi.
