Poveda Study Tour: Turning Dreams into Action at the Academy of Entrepreneurs

ree

For six unforgettable days, students from Poveda School traded their classrooms for the vibrant city of Sydney, Australia — joining the Academy of Entrepreneurs Study Tour to explore what it truly means to learn, lead, and launch ideas that change the world.

This wasn’t your typical study trip. No boring lectures.

No endless note-taking. Instead, it was six days of hands-on learning, creative challenges, real-world experiences, and a whole lot of inspiration.

Day 2: Leadership Starts with Emotional Intelligence

The journey kicked off with Paula Mills, the CEO and founder of the Academy of Entrepreneurs, who guided students through an empowering session on how to become emotionally intelligent leaders.

Through interactive discussions and team activities, students learned that leadership isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about understanding yourself and others, staying grounded, and leading with empathy.

Later that day, they explored how the United Nations Development Goals (SDGs) can be turned into business opportunities that make a real impact. And, of course, the day ended on a high note — with an inspiring visit to the iconic Sydney Opera House, where learning met a touch of Aussie magic!

Day 3: Finding Purpose, Making Impact

Day 3 was all about finding purpose and building meaningful impact.

The morning started with an empowering session by Georgina Kar, a leading creative director and fashion stylist, who guided students through “How to Find Your Life Purpose and Create a Positive Impact on the World Through Your Career. ”Her stories about working with top global brands inspired students to dream big — and reminded them that success means little without purpose.

The learning continued with a practical workshop on Business and Revenue Models for Social Enterprises, where students explored how to create sustainable impact — balancing purpose and profit. They learned that changing the world doesn’t mean giving up financial success — it’s about building businesses that do well by doing good.

In the afternoon, the group visited the Croatian Diplomatic Office, gaining real-world insights into international relations, diplomacy, and the power of global collaboration.

To wrap up the day, the students took a scenic walk to St. Mary’s Cathedral, followed by a relaxing dinner in the city and an unforgettable night watching the Darling Harbour fireworks. 🎆A perfect ending to a day filled with inspiration, reflection, and pure Sydney magic.

Then, Tarek, a global pitch coach and TED speaker, shared valuable insights on how social impact investors think — teaching students how to craft stories that move people to action.

To end the day? A well-deserved trip to Paddy’s Market for some delicious food, local shopping, and cultural fun!

Day 5: A Diplomatic Journey in Canberra

Next stop — Canberra! The students spent the entire day exploring Australia’s capital city, visiting various embassies and cultural sites. They learned firsthand how international diplomacy, policy, and entrepreneurship intersect to create a better future for all.

It was a day full of reflection, inspiration, and global perspective.

Day 6: Pitch Day and UTS Visit

The final learning day brought all the lessons together.

The students started with a visit to the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) — immersing themselves in the world of innovation and entrepreneurship at one of Australia’s top universities.

Afterward, they returned to the Academy of Entrepreneurs for an intensive business and pitching mentoring session, led by Giovanni, Angela, and Jason.

This was where ideas became reality — as each student refined their social enterprise project, practiced their pitches, and received real-time feedback from industry mentors.

Confidence grew, ideas evolved, and the energy in the room was electric as everyone prepared for their final business pitch. It was a true celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration.

Day 7: Farewell, but Just the Beginning

As the tour came to an end, the group said goodbye with full hearts, stronger connections, and a clear sense of purpose. From laughter-filled moments to lightbulb ideas, every experience shaped them into more confident, future-ready changemakers.

This wasn’t just a study tour — it was a transformation journey.
