In a rapidly changing world where education must evolve beyond traditional boundaries, meaningful collaborations are becoming the driving force behind future-ready learning. What happens when educators, government leaders, and innovation-driven institutions come together with a shared purpose? In South Sulawesi, Indonesia, we may be witnessing the beginning of something transformative.
Recently, the Academy of Entrepreneurs (AE) had the honour of gathering around one table with the Pemerintah Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, passionate high school English teachers, and the inspiring team at ITB Nobel Indonesia.
It was not just another discussion about education.
It was a conversation about the future.
And somewhere between cups of coffee, ringing phones, shared laughter, and serious reflection… something meaningful began to take shape.
Moments like these remind us that innovation in education does not always begin with grand announcements; sometimes it starts quietly, with honest dialogue and shared curiosity about what is possible.
When Vision Aligns
South Sulawesi has always been rich in potential. The students are bright. The teachers are dedicated. The local government carries a strong vision for educational growth. And ITB Nobel, with its entrepreneurship focus, understands that the future belongs to those who can think boldly and act confidently.
Across Indonesia and globally, educators are asking the same question:
how do we prepare students not only academically, but also mentally, creatively, and globally?
This gathering became a space where that question could be explored openly.
The question that brought us together was simple yet powerful:
How do we prepare high school students not just to pass exams, but to step confidently into a global world?
The conversation naturally revolved around two essential elements:
Strengthening English exposure as a bridge to global opportunity
Cultivating entrepreneurial thinking as a life skill, not just a business subject
Not as separate programs.
But as an integrated experience.
Because when communication skills and entrepreneurial mindset grow together, students begin to see themselves not only as learners but as future innovators, collaborators, and problem-solvers.
A Collaboration, Not a Concept

What made this gathering special was the spirit in the room. There was no hierarchy of ideas — only collaboration.
The education sector representatives shared their broader direction, including aspirations that align with initiatives such as English Day across schools. Teachers spoke honestly about classroom realities. ITB Nobel graciously offered support and facilitation, opening doors for practical implementation and long-term sustainability.
The Academy of Entrepreneurs sees its role as a bridge, connecting educational vision with practical, real-world learning experiences that empower students to think beyond textbooks.
This was not about launching something quickly.
It was about building something thoughtfully.
It felt less like planning — and more like co-creating.
True transformation rarely happens overnight; it grows through trust, shared ownership, and a willingness to experiment together.

Learning Before Launching
On 9 December last year, we quietly conducted a pre-trial session. It was intentionally small. Intentionally experimental. Intentionally open to feedback.
The energy in the room was vibrant. Students were curious. Teachers were engaged. And most importantly, we gathered meaningful insights — real opinions, constructive inputs, and reflections that will shape the next phase.
One of the most powerful moments came from observing students stepping outside their comfort zones. Speaking, sharing ideas, and exploring new ways of thinking that blended language learning with entrepreneurial creativity.
Education evolves through listening.
And we listened.
Those conversations after the session, some formal and some over coffee, were just as important as the session itself.
Why This Matters
In today’s world, English is more than grammar and vocabulary. It is access — to ideas, to global collaboration, to opportunities beyond borders.
Entrepreneurship is more than building a company. It is a mindset — resilience, initiative, creativity, leadership.
When students begin developing both early in high school, something shifts:
Confidence grows
Communication strengthens
Leadership begins to surface
Students start seeing themselves as global contributors
This approach aligns with a growing global movement toward future-ready education where critical thinking, communication, creativity, and collaboration become central pillars of learning.
And when government, universities, and teachers move together in alignment, the impact is not temporary — it becomes structural.
Looking Toward April
We are taking our time. Refining. Improving. Strengthening the foundation.
If all aligns, April may mark the next step forward.
But what matters most is not the date.
It is the intention behind it.
The vision is simple yet powerful: to create learning experiences where students feel confident expressing ideas in English, developing entrepreneurial thinking, and seeing themselves as part of a global community.
We are grateful to the Pemerintah Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan for their openness, to ITB Nobel Indonesia for their warm facilitation, and to every educator who believes in preparing students for a future that is both local and global.
Sometimes the most meaningful movements begin quietly.
And in South Sulawesi, something beautiful is brewing.
And perhaps, as this journey unfolds, it will inspire not only one region but many others to reimagine what education can become when collaboration, courage, and creativity come together.
