A visit that sparked meaningful conversations around global education, youth development, and future collaboration in South Sulawesi.

During her visit to Makassar, Paula Mills, CEO of Academy of Entrepreneurs, spent meaningful time connecting directly with students, educators, and government leaders in South Sulawesi. The visit marked an important moment of dialogue, inspiration, and collaboration around global education opportunities for Indonesian youth.
At a time when young people are navigating rapid change, uncertainty, and growing global interconnectedness, the visit highlighted an important question:
how can education better prepare students not only to succeed academically, but to grow as confident, globally minded individuals?
Inspiring Students in Makassar

The day began with a visit to a senior high school in Makassar, where Paula personally introduced the Academy of Entrepreneurs Study Tour Program to students and teachers. The session was filled with curiosity, thoughtful questions, and excitement. Students were introduced to a learning experience that goes beyond classrooms and textbooks, one that invites them to explore the world while discovering who they are and who they can become.
Rather than focusing solely on academic outcomes, the discussion centered on learning through experience. Students were introduced to an approach that encourages exploration, self-discovery, and personal growth. The Study Tour Program invites students to step outside familiar environments, engage with different cultures, and reflect on who they are and who they want to become.
The Study Tour program is open to students across Indonesia. It is designed to give young people meaningful global exposure while supporting their personal development. Through international immersion, students learn to step outside their comfort zones, communicate across cultures, and see the world with a wider perspective. Many students begin to uncover their interests, passions, and strengths during the journey, whether in leadership, entrepreneurship, creativity, or social impact.
More than just travel, the program focuses on personal growth. Students are encouraged to reflect, to lead, to collaborate, and to believe in their potential. Confidence grows naturally when students are trusted with responsibility and challenged to think independently. These are experiences that stay with them long after the journey ends.
Meaningful Dialogue with the South Sulawesi Government

The visit continued with an official dinner hosted by the South Sulawesi Government, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss the future of education and youth development in the region. The evening was not simply ceremonial. It was deeply meaningful, beyond formality, creating space for open and forward-looking conversation.
Discussions focused on shared goals for the future of South Sulawesi, particularly how international exposure, innovation, and collaboration can support the next generation. There was a strong sense of openness and optimism as both sides explored potential partnerships that could strengthen educational pathways, empower students, and bring global opportunities closer to local communities.
The discussion highlighted how education can be a bridge between local values and global possibilities. By working together, schools, institutions, and government can create learning experiences that prepare students not only to succeed academically, but to contribute positively to society.
Looking Ahead
This visit to Makassar was a reminder that when education is driven by purpose and collaboration, its impact reaches far beyond a single program or event. It becomes a movement toward a more connected, confident, and future ready generation.
The Academy of Entrepreneurs looks forward to continuing these conversations and building meaningful partnerships that support the future of education in South Sulawesi and across Indonesia.
Because when students are given the chance to see the world, they often discover something even more important along the way, their own potential.
